Gorgans on the loose

Today, we started the term off with a WOW day to immerse ourselves in our new theme Ancient Greece.
We began by baking some pittas and using a pestle and mortar to grind chickpeas into houmous. We dipped our flour-covered pittas into the houmous and the tzatziki dips, which were delicious.
We then made Medusa's snake hair / headbands and played 'find the Gorgan' around the forest.

Finally, we made Greek flags to decorate our classrooms.

E-Safety Monsters

This week we have been recapping e-safety (as we do every half term) and we identified things on the internet which might be harmful or cause us worries.
We then made these into monsters and then were allowed to scrunch them up show we aren't scared of them.
Below are the monsters we made for the various areas of e-safety we covered.

Explaining Night and Day

As part of our Science unit, we have looked at the rotation of he Earth around the sun and how this causes night and day. We wrote about the process in the form of an explanation text. Here are some examples of our work. We tried to follow the success criteria so we knew how to structure our text and made sure our diagrams were detailed.

Understanding a text

Our narrative this term is The Door in the Mountain, which is a portal story. It is about a boy called Billy who goes through a door in the mountain into a magical world.
This week, we have been practising to retell it using clear voices and actions. At the end of the week, we were given questions to answer where we had to justify our answers using PEE.

Below are some examples of our answers where he have used evidence from the text to help us and explained our reasoning.

You can see how wonderful our presentation is.

Do you think spray painting should be illegal?
